Most of FindYourLostPets runs entirely in your browser. Your pet data stays on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice and the limited ways data is handled when you use this service.

Your pet data

When you create a pet profile — including your pet's name, description, photos, and your contact information — all of it is stored in your browser using IndexedDB, a standard browser storage technology. This data is never transmitted to FindYourLostPets servers. We have no access to it. Deleting your browser data or using the app's built-in reset function removes it permanently.

iPhone & iPad users — read this

Apple's Safari browser on iOS applies a policy called Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) that automatically deletes locally stored website data — including your pet profiles and photos — if the website hasn't been visited in 7 or more days. This happens silently, without warning. We cannot override this behaviour.

If you use an iPhone or iPad: export a backup file after every session and restore it when you return. The Export backup button is always available in the app header.

Third-party services

Cloudflare — This website is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Standard server request data (IP address, browser type, request timestamp) is processed by Cloudflare as part of normal hosting operations. We receive only aggregate traffic data and do not access individual request logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Google Fonts — This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When you visit, your browser makes a request to Google's servers to retrieve those fonts. Standard request data (including your IP address) is sent to Google as a result. See Google's privacy policy for details.

What we don't do

We do not create user accounts. We do not use advertising. We do not sell data to third parties. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics at this time.

Future changes

Planned features — including sighting reports, which allow people who spot your pet to submit their location and contact details — will require some data to be stored on our servers. When those features are introduced, this policy will be updated before they launch and a notice will be shown in the app.

Your rights

Because your pet data lives in your browser, you control it completely. Export it at any time using the Export backup feature. Delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data or using the app's Reset function.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Governing law

This service is operated from Pennsylvania, United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
